CHANGES TO THE PRIMARY ELECTION FOR 2018
This year, the primary election will include unaffiliated voters. In the past, primary election ballots were only sent to those voters who were affiliated with a political party holding a primary election. However, since the passing of Proposition 108 during the 2016 General Election, unaffiliated voters will also be receiving a primary election ballot in the mail.
Are you an unaffiliated voter? If so, did you know that you can remain unaffiliated while still selecting a preference as to which party's ballot you will receive? Click here if you want to update your registration with a preference. As an unaffiliated voter, if you do not choose a preference ballot you will receive ballots for all participating parties. To avoid invalidation of your ballot, you will need to decide which party's ballot you wish to vote. You can only vote and return one party's ballot.
