Cari Hermacinski is a fifth-generation Northwest Colorado native, a telecommunications consultant, and mother of two daughters. Cari graduated from Moffat County High School in 1988 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wyoming.

In 1997 Cari was awarded a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Denver. While in law school she clerked for Edward Ziegler, author of Rathkopf's the Law of Zoning and Planning, the land use treatise most often cited by the United States Supreme Court. Cari also clerked at the Rocky Mountain Land Use Institute.

Following law school and her admission to the Colorado Bar, Cari moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to work in the telecommunications industry. While living in Philadelphia, her appreciation for this country's history and founding documents deepened. After two years in Philadelphia, Cari returned to Colorado to launch her own small business - Telecomm. Acquisition Group, Inc. (TAG) - a telecommunications consulting company. TAG provides land acquision and permitting services, including environmental due diligence, and coordinates architectural and engineering services for the construction of wireless telecommunications sites throughout the Rocky Mountain region and along the Eastern Seaboard.

In 2007 Cari was elected to serve on the City of Steamboat Springs City Council. Cari initially served as President Pro Tem and when reelected in 2009 was elected as the City Council president. Term limited, she finished her second term in the fall of 2013. Cari also served on the City of Steamboat Springs Planning Commission from 2003-2007.

Cari lives in Steamboat Springs with her husband Mark Hermacinski, a general surgeon, and their two daughters, Eva and Josie. In her free time Cari loves to hike.
