Ballot Trax

The Routt County Elections Division is excited to offer a ballot tracking service to our Routt County voters. Ballot Traxis a free service that allows you to receive messages by text, phone or e-mail concerning the status of your ballot.

Why use Ballot Trax?

All active registered voters in Colorado will now receive a mail ballot in every election. Voted ballots can be returned by mail, or delivered to one of our convenient drop-off locations throughout Routt County, including the secure 24/7 drop box located in the alley behind the historic courthouse and the arking lot of the old Sheriff's office. Ballot Trax will alert you that ballots have been mailed and prompt you to call the election office if you haven't received your ballot. It will also let you know the status of your voted ballot once it's been received for counting.

How does Ballot Trax know where my ballot is?

Ballot envelopes are printed with unique bar codes, which are scanned when the ballot is mailed to you by the U.S. Postal Service, picked up by your mail carrier, and received by the Routt County Elections Division. These intelligent bar codes allow us to securely track your ballot every step of the way.

How and when will Ballot Trax notify me?

When you sign up to receive notifications, you can pick the method of delivery for the automated message. In addition to the standard notifications, you will also receive a message if your ballot has been returned undeliverable or cannot be processed for some reason that requires your attention.

If you prefer not to receive messages, you can go online to Ballot Trax during any election to check the status of your ballot.

Is there a cost to use Ballot Trax?

There is no fee to sign up for an account or for messages. However, your phone carrier's standard text message or voice rates may apply, depending on your plan.

How do I manage my preferences?

Simply go online to Ballot Trax through the Routt County website at any time to change your preferences, turn off notifications, or check the status of your ballot.
