2021 PROJECTS AND CURRENT ROAD CLOSURES
2021 Project Schedule
Routt County Road and Bridge has the following projects planned for the 2021 construction season.
Minor Bridges - Replace two culvert crossings near Steamboat Springs in Routt County on County Road (CR) 33 just south of the intersection of CR 33 and CR 33A. The Cow Creek Culverts will start and be completed in 2021. Construction should begin in late summer and be completed by the fall. Expect closures and alternate routes.
Crack Seal - Crack seal application to various roads as part of preventive maintenance to preserve asphalt pavement, April – May.
Dust Suppression - Apply dust suppression to the County’s higher volume unpaved roads beginning May 24th. This project will last approximately 6 weeks (weather permitting).
Annual Road Striping – Annual striping of roads in road striping program. Begins June 20th for 3 weeks. Paved roads that receive overlay this year will be striped in September.
Asphalt Patching - Annual patching to repair roads in need. This will begin approximately July 12th.
Overlay - Scheduled to start in August. Approximate mileage listed below.
CR 129 City Limits to Hot Springs Creek, 3.4 miles.
CR 41 CR 35 to 41A, 1.5 miles.
CR 38 Buffalo Pass Road, 0.5 miles
CR 36 Shelf Road to Soda Creek, 1.9 miles.
CR 33 CR 33A to City Limits, 3.9 miles.
CR 22 CO 131 to CR 14, 1.0 mile
Chip Seal- Scheduled to start in July. Approximate mileage listed below.
CR 64 Seed House Road, 6.0 miles
CR 76 The Cog, 2.65 miles
CR 129 CR 54 to Moon Hill, 1.0 mile
Tree Haus Bridge Painting – Tree Haus Bridge will receive treatment to the timber structural members. This will consist of sanding the wood of the structural members as re-staining with a wood preservative. Expect lane closures and flaggers in the area during the work.
All of the dates are subject to change for weather and contractor scheduling. There will be various other projects going on throughout the county this summer. We are working hard to maintain our County Roads for the safety of the traveling public. Thanks for your patience during construction.
