Who are we? 

The Routt County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is the department responsible for promoting a systematic, integrated, and cooperative approach to emergency and disaster planningresponse, and recovery operations.  

What do we do?

We prepare for, respond to, and recover from all-hazard emergencies and disasters effectively and efficiently in order to restore the economic and social viability of Routt County in the most timely manner possible

How do we do it?

We partner with the whole community of emergency response personnel and those that can provide support to emergency response operations, including federal, state, and local government agencies, local communities, the private and non-government sectors, and volunteer organizations, and strive to maximize our preparedness through extensive outreach, education, training, and exercises.

What are our goals?

  1. Respond to natural or man-made disasters in a timely and efficient manner
  2. Maintain existing and add partnerships with the whole community of emergency responders and stakeholders
  3. Develop and execute a multi-year education, training and exercise plan that is focused on the primary hazards to Routt County, to include at least one large culminating exercise each year
  4. Maintain and exercise the Emergency Operations Center
  5. Regularly assess Routt County hazards and response capabilities and update emergency plans
